Animation Program 2001
A Tribute to Faith Hubley

Animatus Studio is proud to have been a sponsor of the 2001 High Falls Film Festival. Thanks to all who helped make the festival such a success. With all the uncertainty in the world lately, we were very fortunate to have Faith Hubley in town for the event. The screenings were well received, and attendees took the opportunity to converse with filmmakers Faith Hubley and Sybil DelGaudio.

Thursday night at the Little Theatre was the screening of Independent Spirits: Faith Hubley/John Hubley, a documentary directed by Sybil DelGaudio.

Friday night's Faith Hubley: A Selection of Films showcased seven of Faith's independent animated films from the past three decades.

On Saturday, October 20, Ms. Hubley was presented with The Web of Life Award, as part of the Closing Night Gala ceremony at the Dryden Theater. Audience members were treated to Faith's short film, "Our Spirited Earth," a portrait of our planet through times of both happiness and crisis.

On Sunday afternoon, Animatus Studio played host to The Faith Hubley Workshop. After screening her autobiographical film, "My Universe, Inside Out," Faith answered questions and discussed her working methods and inspirations.

Faith was an inspirational presence to have at the festival. Her positive attitude and the quality of her works were a reminder of the endurance of the human spirit through good times and bad. We at Animatus feel lucky to have met her.

Faith Hubley's Films are available on video through Pyramid Media.

The Onion AV club did a great interview with Faith in March of 2000.
